JI-illions of Disease Germs Arc: Unrlv-r This Glass SCIENCE BANG! Crash! The shrill sound of a test tube hitting the floor echoes thru the hall as We enter the chemistry laboratory. Upon the floor are the crushed remains of an experiment . Chemistry students all talk at once. telling the unfortunate experimenter what he should have done and didn't do. The odor of sulphur and potassium chloride drifts into the hall and bi- ology room. In the biology room a student conducts a dissection upon a frog. A lizard blinks sleepily and Wonders What is going on. In another corner a little chip- munk skips lightly in his cage. Owhoo! What Was that? Just another girl shrieking her disapproval of a vvriggling snake. Leaf notebooks are due to- morrow! says the instructor. At this the students plan a field trip to collect leaves. A flash! A spark! And the bulb burns out. ':Was it because the current was too strong? No, answers the unknovving student. You're Wrong. That's right! says the teacher. The scratching of pencils and rustling of papers breaks the stillness. A girl comes to the front and presents a report on the Culture of the Greeks . She is followed by a panel discussion on Life in the Time of Pericles . A bell rings followed by a shuffle of feet as the class changes. As the new group enters we hear the following remarks: 'fWe get those test papers back today. What did you put for the reasons for the World War? How did you describe the Treaty of Versaillesffl' The teacher steps up with yellow papers in hand, student monitors distribute them and sighs of relief or groans of despair are interspersed with whispered comments. Again-the bell followed by the shuflie of feet. The incoming students rush to a table, hurriedly thumb through magazines and papers, and dash for their seats as the chairman calls for order. A fiery discussion is instituted on old age pensions in Colorado. Eleven Tu gllulrw Yours:-Zuf Rich liffcliwovcf' Hour the Egyptiurns CI'mnpm'e1l Copper

A group of girls drive across a playing field in the hard and rough game of speedball, in Which they only hope to come out alive. At the other end of the field masculine shouts indicate a fast game of touch football. Snow clad landscapes bring all games inside. For the girls there is volleyball with its fast serves and returns, and also basketball's demand for accurate timing of shots. As one comes into the boys' gym, he may hear the swishing of basketballs as they cut through the hoop just clipping the strings. As spring and the end of the year roll around, softball holds the interest of both boys and girls. This is a game in which at least one-third of the team plays on the outside of the fence to catch the long flys. In a long room rows of cots stretch along a Wall. Still forms of sleeping girls are visible in the semi-darkness. In yet another room We see different pupils straining in manifold exercises strengthening muscles in arms, legs, and back. This is the corrective class. U . Thirteen lvlllflfl' I?l'111y.9 Buslcffflnlll
