CUUNCIL BRI G HAPP FACEQ Manual High School's student council con- sists of 38 students, nine from each class, a mayor of Manual, and a vice-president of student council. Each class is served by four class officers and five representatives. Stu- dent council activities allow Manual students the opportunity to plan, organize, and develop programs and special events they would like at our school. A key goal of Stu- dent Council is to encourage students to support and participate in all Manual activit- ies. Council hosts several Senior Parents' Night programs for football, band, boys basketball, pom-pons and cheerleaders. These are to recognize senior participation and honor the parents for their support of Manual High School. Each Christmas Council conducts a Christ- mas basket Drive to collect canned goods used to make Food baskets which are distrib- uted to needy families in the Manual area. Council also hosts a Christmas party for the younger children from South Side Mission. Student council is also responsible for Spirit Week held each year in February to encourage support for Boys 8a Girls Basket- ball programs.
