H zstonf ana' Relatea' Subjects The department of History and Related Subjects offers courses in ancient- medieval history, modern history, United States history, American government, regional geography. These subjects make students aware of the rest of the World and their relation to it.

D.A.R. Award The class of '63 selected Harold Montville and Becky Kaspar for the D.A .R. citizenship award. The members of the senior class chose them on the basis of leadership, personality, and popularity qualities. We are proud to have these two fine people representing Manual for their leadership and outstanding service to our school and com- munity. D.A. These stu- dents have displayed almost straight A's throughout high school. This year's Val- edictorian is Karen Brokaw, and the Sa- lutatorian is Charles Voss. Students are en- couraged to develop creativeness in art media by increasing diffi- cult projects. Joan Coffman, Sharon Pruett, Gennie Bryan, Jane Sewert, Janet Ragan, Richard Chandler and Floyd Knollenberg find they have more and better facilities to create in Mrs. Calkins' ait room.
