CLASS HISTORY 6-10 The first of February is a date we will always remember as the day a small but mighty class entered the hails of purple and grey . This was to be our home for the coming three years. Here everyone would have an equal chance to partici- pate in school activities. Irene Kruli and Bettirae Wimperls were accepted into Co-eds. Their job was service to the school . Already the brains of the class were beginning to show with Eva Zschoche, George Broder and Florrene Hays being accepted into scholarship society. Into the Aeolian Club went Dan Marquette and Tommy Griffith. A-10 Hope and ambition started the last half of our sophomore year. We were now beginning to know our way around Aanual ' s buildings and campus. We started our A-10 semester with Aeolian Club accepting Frank Coe, John Graves, Andy Morris, Wesley Doe, and Gil Valencia. Orchestra accepted Bette Murray and George Broder. In G.A.A. we found Martha Campbell, Laura Gonzales, Eve Vykydal, Janice Stayboldt, and Bette Murray. B-11 Now with a better Idea of how Manual operates, we faced our second year with new vigor and vitality. Bob Allen, Willard Penn, John Brown, and David Thomas were accepted into Lettermen ' s Society. TrI-S took Betty Sesplaukis and Florrene Hays. While HI-S accepted Frank Sole, Richard Garcia and Gary Hendrix. Elsie Vekich, James Wong, Ross Smith, Don Walker, and Frances Isola were working on the daily staff. A-11 At last we were beginning to organize, DIno Pucelli was elected Class Presi- dent, Bettirae Wimperis, Girls ' Vice President; Eddie Woo, Boys ' Vice President; Barbara Stephens, Secretary; Bob Adams, Treasurer; Laura Gonzales, Historian; and Elsie Vekich, Editor of our class paper, Junior Daily . This cabinet set the pattern for our B-12 semester. Many of our girls were active in Girl ' s Merit Board, Pavlovettes, and Lyric Club. B-12 Seniors at last, the moment which we all had been waiting for. Dino Pucelli, was again elected President; Bob Adams, Boys ' Vice; Irene Krull, Girls ' Vice; Bettirae Wimperis, Secretary; Lenetta Billings, Treasurer; Carol Foster, Historian; Thelma Brown, Yell Queen; and Gil Valencia, Editor of the Shooting Star , 19
