Mr. Shimmin announced his retirement effective at the end of the 1951-1952 school year. Seven of the thirty-two years have been spent at Manteca High School where he has instructed students in industrial arts. Born in Corning, Iowa, Mr. Shimmin later rrmved to Ellendale, North Da- cota, where he completed his high school training.
