Carontawan meaning little town on the hill made its debute in 1918 in a soft cover edition that grew enthusiastically out of a senior project. So began the long tradition that has led us to the Mansfield Univer- sity 1984 Carontawan. Yearbooks tend to chronicle life. They reflect the wide range of changes that take place in our lives, in our community in our nation. So often we are not aware of' this change, but it is all around us, minute by minute, day by day. In glancing back through pre- vious Carontawans you can sense that change at Mansfield, As a community and an institution the change has been simultaneous for neither could be the same without the other. As you look through the 1984 edition try to remember you looking at history, at change. For represented here is all that is new at Mansfield University in 1984.
