College yearbooks are among those things that increase in value as they grow elder. Except for those who dedicated themselves to the task of preparing this annual, its pub- lication is taken for granted. We enjoy the immediate thrill of receiving our book and the satisfaction of that first frantic survey of its contents. Then, rather quickly, it will find its way to a bookshelf, a storage container, or to a corner of a. remote storage area. Eventually, we will re-discover our Carontawan 1980. This time, its pages will be carefully studied, its pictures will be scrutinized, and the contents of the volume will be savored. We will recall Mansfield as it was in those years we were there. Most often, we will have fond memories, and those that are not so fond will be softened by the cushion of time. It is during those intervals that we re- discover our Carontawan 1G80, and we will understand its true value. You have those times ahead. Please accept my thanks for choosing Mansfield as your College. We look forv ard to receiving you as a member of our Alumni, and we anticipate your continuing support. We trust you will value your years at Mansfield as much as we have valued your presence here. t CXrf JANET L.
