CURRICULUM Each day approximately 425 students enter Mansfield in pursuit of knowledge. The seventy seniors make up the largest Senior Class ever to enroll at Mansfield. The Juniors number fifty- seven, Sophomores seventy-five, Fresh- men sixty-three. Eighth Grade eighty. Seventh Grade eighty-nine. Twenty-two instructors, teaching thirty-six courses in nine departments attempt to fill the educational needs of the student body. Three diplomas are offered at Mansfield: The Academic, the Voca- tional and the Attendance Diplomas. COUNSELING One of the most important places in Mansfield is the guidance office, where students go for counseling on present and future activities. Mr. Hugh Lowrimore is the Coun- selor. He received his BSE from Hen- derson State College and his MSE from State College of Ark. with additional graduate work from SCA and Ark. Stale University. Mr. Lowrimore is Sponsor of the Yearbook. Mr. Lowrimore’s work is divided into several phases. When school begins, each student makes out an educational plan. This enables the student to schedule courses for the oncoming year. Another phase includes preparing Seniors for their next step after gradua- tion, whether it be college or a vocation. The hub of the program is individual counseling with all students. The main objective is to help students in every' way possible with their plans for the future. Top: Students catch up on their homework in study hall.
