HOMECOMING '74 WEEK OF Homecoming was a gala event this year. The traditional bonfire, absent during the past few years, was revived. Burn the Indians was the theme of the bonfire and a large crowd attended Thursday night. Cries of “Beat Lamar” echoed in the hall during the week after each class. The activities distracted studies for nine weeks tests and kept students excited and husv in the days pre- ceding homecoming. Nearly everyone was sporting WIN But- tons (Whip Indians Now). Friday morning many organizations frantically added last minute touches to their mini-floats in a bid for first place. First place went to the Senior Class in the Senior High Divi- sion. The title of their lloat was “Puppet Theater.” The Eighth Grade captured first place in their division with “VK illed Warrior Salad.” The Pep Assembly was held Friday afternoon. Mark Plymale. Doug Dorrough, and Kicky Carlton represent their classes in a “Spirit Contest” by silting in buckets of ice. Results? A tie. 12
