The 1968 Junior-Senior Prom was enjoyed by all. The theme, Moonlight on the Mississippi, was carried out by decorations forming the inside of a Southern steamboat. Anita Schmidt and Jim Hochstatter were crowned Queen and King. Attendants were Sue Thompson, Darrell Anderson, Rita Oberle, Karen Miller, and Rick Raabe. The bar did a pretty good business that night. Nancy crowns the new queen, Anita. After the dance most of the couples went to Emerald Hills for bowling, pool, and other activities. All this took place on May 11. 29

GRADUATION CLASS OF 1968 The 54th Annual Commencement Exercises of M.H.S. were held on May 29 at the New Bedford Field House. Twenty-nine seniors marched in to Pomp and Circumstance played by the high school band under the direction of Miss Thomas. Rev. Mason Hopkins gave the invocation, followed by the salutatory address given by Kathy Boyce. The band then played Highlights from Fiddler on the Roof. The commencement address was given by Mr. Sterling Ambrosius, field secretary for the I.A.S.B. The valedictory address was given by Hilary Carlson. Awards were given to the following seniors: Hilary Carlson--V.F.W.f Kathy Boyce—Woman's Club, Anna Schmidt and Dennis Draper--American Legion, and Allen DeDecker—Lt. Eugene Wirth Memorial Award. en lien DeDecker presented the school with the class gift. The highlight of the evening was the presentation of diplomas by Robert Jensen, president of the school board, and Mr. Whitson, our superintendent. After the benediction, also given by Rev.
