THE FACULTY MR CLAUDE H AMMON Principal Mr Ammon was graduated from Norris City High School He entered Ill1 no1s State Normal and was graduated with a B Ed degree He also attended the Un1vers1ty of Illinois and received his Master ol Arts degree This IS Mr Ammons twenty fifth year of teaching and he has been a high school prin cipal for 24 years His favorite past1me 1 attendlng sport events MISS IEAN VAN ORMER Miss Van Ormer graduated from Manl1us High School 1n I939 She at tended Blackburn College for two years entered the University of Illinois in l94I and received her B S degree IH 1943 While at Blackburn she was Sec retary for the President of the college Her favorite hobby IS reading She was a member of the Phi Omega P1 and Phi Chi Theta sororities at the University of Illinois MR CARL C IENSEN Mr Iensen attended high chool at Athens Illinois He attended lll1no1s State Normal and the University of Illinois and graduated with a B Ed de gree He has taught school for five years th1s being his second year at Man l1us Of course Mr Iensens favorite pastime IS music He IS tl e Sophomore Class Adviser MR ELMER E RICE Mr Rice graduated from Illiopolis H1gh School He attended Illinois State degree Mr Rice has taught for three and one half years His favorite pa time IS following athletic teams such as the Manl1us Red Devil MR ROBERT W THEUS Mr Theus graduated from Rock Island High in l93U Later he became an Industnal Engineer and worked for the Servu Rubber Co He entered Brad ley in 1935 and was a member of the famous Bradley Five He coached professional basketball and football and played professional softball He 1o1n ed the Glider Corps of the Army in l94l After his discharge he came to Man l1us He hopes to enter the service again this ummer MRS KATHERINE DeMUNN Mr DeMunn was graduated from Edwardsvtlle High School She attend ed the Eastern Illinois State Teachers College at Charleston Ill no1s and also the University of Illinois She received her B Ed degree at Charle ton State 'leachers College She has also taught at Raymond and Villa Crove High School Mrs DeMunn is the Iunior Class Adviser MISS LOLA NEWMAN Miss Newman graduated from Kirkwood High School and then entered Monmouth College Before coming to Manl1us he taught in Hopedale High School Her favorite pastimes are traveling and writing One of her favorite hobbies IS swimming Miss Newman s pet peeve 1 the question What good will this do us?
