ii' SOPHOMORE OFFICERS: Ruth E le, secretary-treasurer, Duane Taylor, president, Bonnie Allen, vice-president. IBS Bill Varney was chairman of the games committee, with Allen Kipper, Robert Frank, Mary O'Donnell, Shirley Krey, Robert Wilbur, and John Neff giving their assistance. The all important refreshments committee was under the super- vision of R. G. Yapp. His fellow co-workers were Earl Herrick, Phil Schneider, Patricia Harrington, Janet Messenheimer, Nancy Leaven- good, and Leona Wilson. The sophomore class was also responsible for a miscellaneous assembly, with different homerooms contributin g. lt has been a big year for the sophomores, with their party, their assembly, and participation in the sports and events of MHS. To the class of i950 we say: Well done iff The big wheels of Junior High came over to MHS to be known as lowly sophomores. They started out the year, 158 strong, with an ironbound will, There were a host of sophomore boys out for football, and they looked very promising as future gridiron stars. On the night of October l8, the Hi-Y--G.R. play, A Date With Judy , was presented. In the cast were two sophomores, Mary Beth Sleh and Bill Barr. Next on their list was the Sophomore party, given on Saturday night, November 22. It was under the supervision of Miss Marley, head class sponsor, who was assisted by Mr. Buller, Mr. Boles, Miss Johnson, Mr. Storer, and Miss Zipse On the dance committee was Richard Thomas as chairman, ably assisted by Mary Jean Shroyer, Sue Knight, Louise Steuber, Jerry McKee, Patricia Siwan, Sylvia Reinking, James Hensley, Cameron Woolf, Bonnie Allen, Ruth Engle, and Leona Hynes. sv in
