June 5, 1951, will be a day that will long be remembered by each of you. To some of you, that day will no doubt mark the close of your formal education within the classrooms of an educational in- stitution. To others, it will simply mean the comple- tion of another year of formal educational activities. Regardless of the groups which you may find yourself in, l sincerely hope that the few years which you have spent in high school have to some degree given you an insight into the qrave situation in which we in this coun- try find ourselves today. Though it be true that some have contributed and labored more than others, so it is in life. While this is true, it is also an accepted fact that one cannot in this day and age live unto himself alone. lf we are to get the best out of life, we rn'fst early learn to put aside self and selfish motives and work together with that spirit of cooperation that tends to bring out the best that is within us.
