V 77+ t PUBLIC LIBRARY MANCHESTER, 01944 ANCHOR ’86 Manchester High School In Memory Of Ian MacDonald Goodbye to you, our trusted friend. We’ve known each other since we were nine or ten. Together we climbed hills and trees, Learned of love and ABC’s, Skinned our hearts and skinned our knees. 2 L Watching through the looking glass, And the hands on the clock go round. It’s hard to keep your head in place, And still leave your feet on the ground. Only the future can say. What will happen to us all. We can’t just choose the good times. We have to take them all. The parties and the good times, And the bad times all roll on. Then someone plays a record, With those old remembered songs. We bow our heads in silence. To remember a long lost friend. A death that cut us all. With a wound that will not mend. We all reacted differently. Some were silent, some did cry, But we all had our own special way Of telling you . . . Goodbye. 3 p Mythology show and tell. The Awesome Foursome 5 6 ' TSI 7 I -T ' V I 10 2 1. Yea, we’re seniors - so what about it? 2. Brad and his mentor 3. Give it to Zac; he’ll eat anything, 4. MA 01915 (617) 922-1202 134 To The Class Of 1986 In the short time I ha ve been here, I have come to know that a class that appeared to me to be perfectly regular is truly haunted by an unfortunate history. I find it hard to imagine the power of the events that created this feeling. It is something like a curse in a Greek tragedy when the evil of some is inevitably passed on to the innocent. In Greek tragedies the characters are often spiritually changed through their struggle. They become more humane. Perhaps this is why your class appears to be closer and more unified than classes in my limited memory. Perhaps you have gained some of the wisdom that the ancient Greeks believed came only through suffering. If I am correct about all of this, you have a head-start on many other senior classes. My prediction is that you will become more successful than anyone would imagine. This will happen because of the wisdom gained from your struggles and the freedom you will gain when the curse is lifted upon graduation. You should look forward to your reunions in 10 or 20 years. You will be impressed with yourselves.
