Text from Pages 1 - 152 of the 1984 volume:

Dedication The class of 1984 wishes to honor and thank two people who have made an ex- traordinary contribution to Manchester High School. They are not teachers, nor are they administrators; however, the many varied tasks they perform are essential to the well being and continued success of both the students and teachers. They provide academic and educational advice, emotional support, and friendly encouragement. From within their tiny offices, order emerges from scheduling chaos. These two calm and wise counselors have steered hundreds of Manchester High School students toward hopeful futures. In addition to their seemingly endless professional tasks, they enthusiastically and generously give of themselves to many other school activities. They are behind the students 100% as they coach, develop such new programs as Project Adven- ture, and avidly support all extra-curricular endeavors. The 1984 Anchor is dedicated to Manchester High School’s unsung heroes Miss Nancy Bachman and Mr. Richard Ananian. 2 COURSE 1 0 0f 3 Please don ' t send me back to Loomis-Chaffee. Geary “No Party Too Small or Too Large.” 42 Raymond Street 526-7309 Manchester, Mass. TO THE CLASS OF ’84 Since this is my first year here, people frequently ask me, “How do you like.it in Manchester?” I usually respond with something like, “I like it very much.” which is true and safe, but it says very little. Unfortunately, there is usually not enough time to say more: I should take the time to say that I like the beautiful scenery on my drive to work. I like championship teams both athletic and academic. I like students who are characters and have character. I like 7th graders and seniors in the same building, both are a bit confused and excited for different reasons. I like small schools where people really care about each other. 1 like teachers that spend enormous amounts of time working with students after regular hours on teams and activities. In general being in a special place with special people is very likable. The Class of ’84 plays a special role in my feelings about Manchester. You have been the leaders, you have set the pace, you have made us an exciting place. With my coming and your leaving, we have passed by each other quickly. But my memory of you will linger for you are cer- tainly a unique group of individuals. You have made yourselves special even among all that is already special about this place.
