Manchester Junior -Senior High School is meeting this challenge and is presently undergoing rapid changes to pro- vide its students a finer education. It is fitting, therefore, for the 1967 Anchor to illustrate the changes which we are undergoing now and which are in the fore- seeable future . --The Staff of the 1967 Anchor 6 the anchor— 1 967 manchester junior-senior high school manchester-by-the-sea massachusetts We do not remember days, We remember moments 8 the class of 1 967 respectfully dedicates the anchor to carole g. fitzgerald january 24, !949-june4, 1965 student personnel services Mrs. Delviks Attendance Dr. Greenslet Health Service Mr. Moore Adjustment Counselor Mrs. Corson Remedial Reading Mrs. Fialho- -Health Dr. Howard- -Health Mrs. Spear--Health Leonard P. Zani Guidance Miss Segal Remedial Speech and Hearing Our present educational program in Manchester consists of three aspects: instruc- tion, administrative services, and student personnel services . Instruction is the focal point of the educational program, and the teacher holds the important position in the school. Administrative services are provided for the purpose of facilitating the in- structional program and supporting the teacher in his instructional role. Student per- sonnel services are facilitative and are designed to help each student obtain the maximum benefit from all other services. While S.P.S. is one of the three areas of any educational program, it also suppliments the other two. In Manchester the stu- dent personnel services include: Health Services, Remedial Services, School Adjust- ment Services, Attendance, Special Education and the Guidance Program. 10 faculty and administration a letter from the superintendent of schools mr. foster a. ball To The Class of 1967 The element of change which is so characteristic of the world today in nearly every aspect of human existence is particularly descriptive of the field of education. One aspect of this change is the emerging realization that education is a service with an economic value to the student and society alike. The citizens of Manchester and your teachers have strived to provide a proper learning environment that will enable you to compete in our complicated world. We hope that you have learned your lessons well and that we will be proud of your future accomplishments. F oster H . Ball Superintendent of Schools 12 the school board . . . Mr. Fred P.
