freshman Orientatm— Zwo Days Packed with Activity Over 400 freshmen arrived two days early this fall for an orientation period. The neophytes were greeted by cam- pus pals, upperclassmen who led small groups in campus tours and other ac- tivities to familiarize the new students with life at MC. Dances, simulation games and informal group discussions filled the days and helped the freshmen get to know each other. With the im- portant processes of moving in, meeting and making friends well started, the freshmen were ready for classes by Tuesday. Right : A simulation game made it easy for freshmen to get acquainted. Below: Sandie Sautbine, Ann Vormohr and Terri Humphrey find a sunny spot dur- ing orientation activities.

KeunioHS, Act ' mties, Athletics Till Momecoming Week Homecoming was celebrated by Manchester alumni, students and par- ents October 17-21, 1978. The week began with a special TNITO and ran full speed into the weekend, with ac- tivities every night. Some events were a Wednesday night Open Union, a bon- fire pep rally Thursday, and a Home- coming dinner Friday night. Entertain- ment on Friday and Saturday evenings included games, a movie, a perfor- mance of BRIGADOON, and a dance featuring a live band. Saturday was scheduled for coffee hours, reunions and alumni ceremonies. Sports fans enjoyed the Alumnae Ten- nis Classic, the soccer game against lUPU of Fort Wayne and the football g ame with Taylor. Top left: A common sight Saturday afternoon was Dan Hoffman running with the ball. Top right: Thursday night a bonfire and pep rally kindled spirit for Saturday ' s games. Center: No easy task, but the Spartan football squad fought their way past Taylor for a close win.
