This building, completed in 1923, purposely
was built and equipped for chemical science.
It contains practically all the facilities which
are necessary in the study of general and ad-
vanced chemistry. These facilities include a
lecture room, and laboratories which can ac-
commodate 144 students with chemicals, ap-
paratus, and gas and water in ready use. There
are also stock rooms, instructors' offices, bal-
ance room, and a chemistry library. This lib-
rary furnishes periodicals, text and reference
books, and bound chemical abstracts for the
The Chemistry Department has acquired a
notable reputation in this area, chiefly through
the works of Doctors Holl and Weimer.
