DOCTOR KINTNER When the late Otho Winger became president of Manchester College in 1910, he adopted the policy of hiring graduates of the college as professors. One of the first to join the faculty was Prof. E. Kintner. Nothing could better illustrate the shrewd insight into character which the late Pres. Winger possessed than this choice. For many years Dr. Kintner was the sole science teacher here at Manchester College. During this time he has successfully fathered a family which would be of credit to any man. Dr. Kintner is a staunch Christian with deep convic- tions; many small churches have looked to Elder Kintner in times of strife and trouble. To none of you who know him or have been in his classes need we explain why we dedicate the 1949 AURORA to Dr. Edward Kintner. But to you who have not had the privilege of knowing him let us say it is for 40 years of selfless, humble, Christian service to his home, his school and community, and his God. 24

DEAN HOLL Were it not for the friendly smile, the frequent hand shake, and the rare wit of Dean Hoi I, college life would seem in- complete. With a sincere interest in in- dividual problems, the dean always finds time for a chat . His is the enviable quality of making one feel at ease re- gardless of the situation.
