The object of the club is to encourage " right living." The members learn how
to plan, prepare and serve wholesome, palatable and attractive luncheons at a low cost
and with a minimum expenditure of time and effort.
During the first half of the year two luncheons were held, a Thanksgiving and a
Christmas luncheon. During the last half of the year the club members were divided
into groups of two, each group prepared and served a luncheon to the club. The
luncheons that were held were: An Italian luncheon, a Valentine's luncheon, a St.
Patrick's luncheon and a Hawaiian luncheon.
The members of the club were: Hilda Allen, Ella Cooke, Jeanette Corwin,
Ethel Cowell, Agatha Dey, Ethel Hardwich, Mable lvlathews, Fay lllazurette, Pearl

The Junior French Club was organized in September, 1935. This innovation
proved so successful and popular that its activities increased this year. The club meets
after school once a week. The members have enjoyed many parties, swims, French
games, French songs, and have practiced French conversation. A French environment
has been created through exhibits, and a good foundation has been laid to make
advanced French a pleasure. Through the Junior French Club, the members have
acquired a broadened culture and a knowledge of French customs. They have enjoyed
learning something of lasting use, and have developed a firm interest in the French
language and its songs, games, books, and other forms of culture. VVe feel that
lVIanasquan High School is fortunate in having the opportunity to begin the study of
French so early, and under the guidance of a qualified and experienced French teacher.

ln accord with the general popular trend, the Knit 'n' Purl Club, a new organiza-
tion, was formed under the direction of Bliss Dorothy Robinson. The purpose ot this
club is to teach beginners how to knit.
The club meets on the second and fourth llonday of each month during the
activities period. llfleetings are mostly informal and after a brief business meeting the
members continue to Work on their Scotty hats, skirts, scarves, bags or sweaters as the
case may be.
This year the membership of the club was limited to thirty-live girls, and since
all members are beginners, this policy will probably be continued. All members have
taken active interest in the work and the club plans to extend its activities during
the coming year.
