The "M" Club is the girls' athletic association of the school and has been
one of our most outstanding organizations in these past five years.
This year there were sixty-four members enrolled in the club. Regular
meetings were held in the gymnasium on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons
during which the girls took part in the following activities: soccer, cheer-
leading, basketball, volley ball, baseball, swimming, hiking, ping pong, bad-
minton, archery, and dancing.
On Play Days the girls visited Point Pleasant, Freehold, Neptune, and
Asbury Park high schools and enjoyed excellent entertainments.
The "M" Club functions under a carefully planned point system. through
which awards are presented at the end of the year to the girls attaining the
highest number of points. The awards consist of a trophy, six varsity chenille
letters, and fourteen varsity felt letters.
For achieving the greatest total of points during her four years in the "M"
Club, Alice Coryell received the trophy which is awarded to the "Most Out-
standing Girl Athlete" in the school.
The next five girls in line who received chenille letters were: Lolly
Predricks, Gladys Peer, Vivian Warner, Eleanore Jackson, and Bette Meyers.

The Commuters' Club was organized for its third year under the super-
vision of Mrs. Smith, faculty adviser. Meetings are held in the gymnasium
where the girls take part in athletic activities.
The purpose of this club is to give those girls who are unable to stay after
school for the "M" Club an opportunity to participate in sports similar to those
carried on in the "M" Club.
Teams are chosen at each meeting by the two captains of the club. This
year the captain of the White team is Helen Shibla, and the captain of the Blue
team is Angeline Gardella.
At the end of the year the girl with the greatest number of points is
rewarded with a large felt "M" while the next four highest members earn a'
miniature "M" for their outstanding achievements.
