HILLS, who can always be found wearing a cheery smile, is responsible for the academic records and class standings, in addition to teaching stenography and typing. We students are not the only ones who need assistance either from teachers or from the guidance counselors. Mr. Matthews too needs trained personnel to carry out the various functions which he as headmaster does not have time to do. His oftice secre- taries, Miss Mabel McQuesten, Mrs. Helen Hills, and Miss Eunice Young, are all gradu- ates of Malden High School. Miss Mabel McQuesten takes care of Mr. Matthews' cor- respondence, assigns substitutes, is in charge of the daily bulletin, and makes out tran- scripts fof seniors going to college. Mrs. Helen Hills not only teaches shorthand three periods a day, but also takes care of the Kardex academic records, on which our grades are recorded permanently. Miss Eunice Young, head of the steno- graphy and typing department, helps to till out transcripts, checks unaccounted for slips, and carries out other duties. Not only does Mr. Matthews appreciate the fine assistance offered by the secretaries, but we too ap- preciate all they do for us, not iust in carry- ing on their routine duties but in the personal favors as well, How many times have they called us to the oftice to get our lunch or book which we have forgotten at home, or to answer a personal telephone call, or to give our college applications to Mr. Mat- thews!
