BOARD OF EDUCATION These prominent people in the community serve this school district without remuneration for their work. They set up and institute the rules at Maine West. PRINCIPAL Mr. Rider, Principal at Maine West, bears all the responsibility of seeing that the school is run smoothly. It has been his job in the past four years at Maine to maintain discipline in the student body and to appoint certain personnel specified duties. It is largely because of Mr. Rider that Maine has set such high standards for its students and teachers to live up to— both academically and in the field of sports. c .• ' . !•«■». Mr. Herman L. Rider Mr. Robert A. Wells ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL Helping Mr. Rider to diversify the du- ties and chores of the school is Mr. Robert Wells, the Assistant Principal. Some of his other responsibilities include scheduling fire and air raid drills, as- semblies, and the placement of needed substitute teachers. In addition to these jobs, Mr. Wells must assume Mr. Rider ' s position when the latter is absent for any reason. Mr. Weils and Mr. Rider must work together in agreement on every issue in school policy. In this way they can lead the school as a unit.
