The curriculum, aimed particularly, at the non-college bound student, includes every- thing from wood and metal working to electricity and auto mechanics. The student who takes ad- vantage of the industrial arts facilities at AAaine can often develop advanced knowledge and skills in a specific field that may well lead to a gratify- ing and rewarding job immediately following high school. Volz HOME ECONOMICS The home economics department at Maine West provides a well-rounded education and prepara- tion for homemaking and family living. Any in- terested girl at Maine can take part in the diversi- fied opportunities afforded her in the areas of cooking, clothing, and home management. These areas of study form a well-rooted foundation upon which she can build and prepare for the future.

LANGUAGE We often, especially in the study of litera- ture, encounter the phrase, It loses some- thing in the translation. At Maine West, students, through their study of a language, are able to gain the satisfaction of reading, in the original, the writings of some of his- tory ' s greatest figures. Latin students, for example, have the opportunity to read the famous works of Vergil and the great orator Cicero.
