Another chapter of Maine,s history has been
completed. The story began in 1901 on Thacker
Street in Des Plaines. When a larger Maine was
needed, a 70 acre tract on the corner of
Dempster and Potter met the new demands and
in 1930 a new Maine was built .Maine has
expanded. In 1901 there were 35 pupilsg this
year there are 3,000 The faculty numbers 127
classroom teachers. A 1500 seat auditorium and a
6,000 seat field house are a few of the facilities
of the addition built in 1954.
