SENIOR CLASS SONG: CLASS POEM: SIGNS OF SADNESS Goodbye MHS my friend Our happy times are going to end From the past comes slowly creeping Precious memories we are keeping And the tears Through which we look just now Somehow Show the signs of sadness. The crowded halls we walked along And our chatter, sang our song At our lockers we stopped awhile From each passing face came a smile As we stand here Looking back upon the years And our fears We feel the signs of sadness. And in our memories we see Devoted friends of you and me With whom we shared our thoughts When good advice we’d sought As the time nears For us to leave We weave Into the signs of sadness. As this year comes to an end Our new life we will begin Using wisdom of our past years To comfort our heart’s fears Again the tears Have started to fall We recall In the signs of sadness. Goodbye, MHS, my friend Our happy times are going to end Although we would like to stay We have to be on our way We leave our names written on The memories of MHS It’s the best Weepin’ in the signs of sadness. Class of’70 Though our memories are now behind tears They will remain with us through the years. We’ve oft felt that graduation would be a great relief But now that it’s come we feel reluctant to leave. In our school days many experiences have been dealt; So, that higher goals and aspirations might be felt. Though at times we have been dismayed Understanding by our faculty was displaces. This aided us in trying to realize What was meaningful in our lives. Ahead of us-whatever may be We’ll now face with less difficulty. Since we First entered the halls of M.H.S. What we have learned will help us do our best.
