IUNIIOR CLASS HISTORY President Bob Amos Vrce President Bob Bruce Secretary Paul Parsche Treasurer Bill Hawkins September 8 1956 was .1 big day for over a hundred people for that was the d ix 1nd year we the cl iss of 40 entered Magnolia As our leader, during our Freshman year we chose Ted Tanner We prospered as the months rolled by First of all, our stunt given on the Athletic field turned out to be a grand success, and for our hard work and preparation, we receix ed first prize of fue dollars Then of course later in the year we again won first prize for another stunt given in the Cyrade School auditorium We called it The March of 'lime Talented students from the class readily agreed to take part in its pro duction Because of this fine cooperation we outrated all the other classes stunts We entered goth a boys and girls team in the annual basketball tourna Hawkins of our class were chosen the best sports of the tournament School was dismissed for the summer the latter part of May, but September soon roller around, and we started school as Sophomores We chose for our leader Ted Tanner This was the first year the school had Home Room Organizations Each of our rooms presented their talent in programs for the other students of the school Again, we had both a boys and girls team in the school class tournament, and this year because of our enthusiastic cheering we received the prize for has ing the best cheering section One of the highest honors of the year went to our classmate Annale Rable w hen she was chosen to be drum mayor for the Magnolia High School Band Now we are in our Iumor year Several new students joined in the ranks of the Iunior class when Paden City boys and girls enrolled in Magnolia VVe were xery proud of the boys of our class when we discovered several of them to be members of the football squad Proud also were we of the mem bers who w ere chosen to take part in the play sponsored by the annual Sex eral members of the class are in the band Bob Amos, our president this tear and Annale Rable represented Magnolia High School in the state Literary Meet Both were winners in the West Liberty Sectional and repre sented the panh tndle area in the State Meet held in Morgantown -lf A s L L , 1 1 I I r u l S -1 5 . , .
