'N Bluestocking '71 Co-editors, Cindy Cale and Patty Syzmaszek, look over past issues of Madonna's literary magazine, Bluestocking 1971 . . A Sockful Of Student Talent And Creativity To be a writer, you only have to live. To be a littera- teur, you need a certain degree of talent and a large 'amount of perseverance. Bluestocl-ting is Madonna's annual literary maga- zine. Composed of student poems, short stories, essays and art work, it presents quality work and is the pride of its authoresses. Directed by its dedicated editors, the Bluestocl-:ing members review selections submitted, create an artistic background, form a de- sirable layout and center it all around a major theme to produce a book written by the student body. The staff's work is strenuous, but not unrevvarded. Besides the honor of seeing the finished product of the magazine, eligible candidates are enrolled into the literary honor society, Quill and Scroll, which is made up of all girls in the upper third of their class and having thirty hours of work on publications. Thus, they are recognized for their talent and service.
