Cul- tural understanding of a people helps to join the gap between nationalities. The French club and Spanish club at Madonna try to familiarize students with additional information on the countries whose lan- guage they study. It gives them a chance to learn, outside the classroom, of customs and traditions. Every member feels a union with the people who speak their newly found language. Each also sponsors annual events. The French club presents yearly a dinner and variety show for the faculty. Bake sales, French films and plays are among their other activi- ties. The Spanish club's fiesta is the besta! As part of their annual activities, the club members recreate a Mexican fiesta in all its gaiety and color. When visiting the art museum, Spanish club members were given a cultural insight into their second homeland. Through their activities they employ the language they have already learned. With the foreign language clubs at Madonna you can be a petite fille or a ninacita , something you never could be before. tr at 9' ..fL,. it fc 'Q ' rr . 4 4 An 9 . tg t f .iyy . . fa
