K With A Smile You Can Open Up A New World Through CLC, CCD Have you ever tossed a pebble into a pond only to dis- cover the limitless directions in which the ripples flow? Through membership in the CLC and CCD, a chain re- action of community involvement is started. The CCD organization strives to prepare students to be qualified religious education teachers. The train- ing course is a must for all prospective student teachers, but the real instructor is experience. CCD annually sponsors a workshop where different teaching tech- niques are taught. An old club with a different face is the CLC. In an effort to give the Sodality new direction, officers and members revised their entire charter. At Madonna, members of the Christian Life Community keep up with the changes in their organization by the personal in- volvement it calls for. Some of their community oriented programs are the Christmas basket for the poor and the Christmas party for the retarded children. With this change the former Mission Club came under the CLC who adopted all of its responsibilities. Sports + Books + Experiments + Logic 'rowth Everyone, somewhere inside of them, has a special talent. The expression of a talent is very important, and the continuous exercise of it prevents the skill from be- coming dormant. Because you usually like whatever you do best, you will enjoy the clubs at Madonna that evolve around your specialty . Novels, poetry and short stories can produce many plea- sant hours of listening tothe messages and meanings that other people have to offer. If you have discovered this fact yourself, you can broaden your scope and share what you've learned through Library Club. Maybe class alone does not fulfill your desire for knowl- edge in Science and Math. Guest speakers and field trips are just two of the many ways to increase your understand- ing of Science in Science Club. To make math more than just a bunch of numbers , Math 12 students watch each other grow by giving talks themselves on a phase of math they have researched and studied at Math Club. But if athletics is your basket , you can limber up through G.A.A. The Girls Athletic Association provides competition in volleyball, basketball and bowling. It is a perfect way to develop basics in team work and good sportsmanship. Pick and interest, Madonna is sure to have something to meet it! Are those aquanauts in the aquarium?
