ath nd Science Lead To lieap For Mankind Reflect upon a summer evening in the year 1969! You probably were f sitting in front of your television set as you watched our astronauts actu- ally walk upon the moon. And as Arm- strong uttered words heard around the world, your heart swelled with pride. How true his words were: That's one small step for a man. One giant leap for mankind. Science and Math are two of the oldest fields of knowledge, and yet they are just now entering into their prime. Only recently have educators and students alike realized the po- tential that these two subjects have in our society. In an effort to meet this new challenge, Madonna offers a four year curriculum in each of these fields. They vary from algebra to ge- ometry and from biology to physics. Cook, Sew, T pe . . . ll Part Of Came Of Life . . . Specialized skills are a must for todays modern, liberal- ized woman. She is a combination of skills. One set of these are those of a homemaker. With this in mind Madonna has made two courses available in Home Economics. Even if you're not CoCo Chanel, every family's needs include some- thing in the line of sewing. And especially if you are a Peg Bracken, Home Economics, sewing, and cooking, is very ben- eficial. Domesticity is a career that demands infinite knowl- edge and ability. Ranging from health to interior decorating, Home Economics provides practical lessons needed in every- day life. Common diseases, their causes and cures are in- cluded in health. Interior decorating explains fabric and color scheme patterns for beautifying a home. But as times keep changing, a professional vocation be- comes more important for a woman. She has to be trained and experienced in her field in order to exist in our fast- paced world. Shorthand and typing are the beginnings for a business career. A chance to become familiar with busi- ness machines is also obtainable at Madonna.
