Madonna girls who be- long to the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin are being patriotic in a very practical way. Imitation of Mary's virtues, to which the Sodalist is dedicated, will bring about a stronger and happier America. Sodality prefect, S. Johnson, kneels before Our Lady and thanks her for a successful year. A high point of the Sodality's many activities is the annual outdoor crowning of the Blessed Mother.

Wrapping Christmas gifts for the lay teachers is a happy re- sponsibility of B. O'Connor, S: johnson, C. Kolaga and J. Johnson. The Student Council was established to function as an organ through which the stu- dents might present their opinions and de- sires concetning the general welfare of the school. Here, ideas and suggestions are pre- sented for the consideration of the faculty, and any problems which may arise are dis- cussed among the representatives under the guidance of the Council's moderator. More important, perhaps, than the tangible func- tioning of the Student Council is the fact that, in its essence a democratic organization, the Student Council serves as an example of the democratic way of life, the life which We must be prepared to live as ,citizens of the United States. J. Guzdeic presents the Student Council Banner to the repre- sentative of Room 111, K. Perlman. The banner is merited by cooperation and participation in school activities.
