The time of their lives A rush of activities, schoolwork, and breathtaking games created the ever- lasting memories that students would know as the time of the their lives. Exciting games, well-planned dances, and schoolwork made each student ' s life similar but different. Going to football, basketball, volley- ball, and baseball games was one of the favorite pastimes of students and faculty members. Games were often very excit- ing because of the rugged competition in the Gem State Conference. Dances were an important part of school life and the students could usually attend at least two a month. Doing homework wasn ' t the most pop- ular way to spend time but it was the most common. Ninety percent of all time related to school was either in the class- room or doing homework. While students were individuals in their own right, they all were pulled clos- er together by the different activities they participated in. More activities and better planning made student life a little bit more than ever before.

Camping out on the beaches, jumping off cliffs and waterskiing are a few of the things they perfected at the vacation haven. Utah was a popular vaca- tion spot for students going to youth conferences and the Manti Pageant. It was really cool. The pageant is something you have to go see to appreciate, said ju- nior Erica Merrill after going to the pageant over the sum- mer. ' The part I liked best about summer was the trip my church group took to San Fransisco, said Ni- chole Smith, junior. On their trip they visited Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge, and toured the city. The students that stayed around Rexburg for their summer vacation took fre- quent trips to Rigby and Quayle lakes to cool off. On rainy days girls piled in their cars and headed for the malls in Idaho Falls for an afternoon of serious shop- ping. After a day shopping they would go to the drive- in to see all continued on page 1 1 8 Summer
