QI'll0I" 6 CLJ6 .,M6i0l'g FRESHMAN TRAIL The traul that leads to success and happuness un lufe us a long and steady clumb Nothung worthwhule us achueved wuthout effort and a very large group of freshmen appeared on regustratuon day l9118 to start the clumb Reud Nelson was chosen as our furst class presudent We were a guuet group who spoke only when we felt luke ut ln our Freshman year we showed that we had great abuluty un athletucs musuc dramatucs and other specual arts We showed outstandung abuluty un schol astuc achuevements by wunnung furst place un the gurls and boys duvusnon of the essay contest sponsored by the Rexburg Junuor Chamber of Commerce SOPHOMORE TRAIL The sophomore traul looked a luttle steeper than the freshman traul but we had the wull and enterpruse to try anythung once Then uf we dudn t succeed we would keep tryung untul we dud We chose Larry Rowe to lead us and we enuoyed an ventful and prosperous year The sophomore party was a roarung success and everythung went well The gurls began to vusut the beauty parlors more often and the boys began to notuce geometruc fugures that were not un the geometry book JUNIOR TRAIL There were many thorns and branches whuch hundered us as we clumbed the everlastung traul of success Some have strayed off the traul but they wull one day To keep us goung at a steady pace we chose Lyle Heunz to lead us Our Junuor Promenade was very successful There was no questuon about ut we were begtn nung to act luke ladues and gentlemen SENIOR TRAIL Our mauestuc freshman class had dwundled down to a small but proud senuor class but we remembered that many good tnungs come un small packages It was now our turn to set a pace for Nladuson H gh School Wuth age comes wusdom and Del Var Petersen was chosen presudent Our presentatuon of the senuor play left no doubt un anyones mund that we were talented un dramatucs Our class blossomed out un unsurpassed leadershup un every fueld Sunce we had gauned much wusdom and knowledge ut us no wonder that when our resources were pooled we had such a successful Senuor Ball We 'ooked hopefully toward the day of gradu atuon when we would be rewarded for our efforts THE BEGINNING OF THE END When the end of the senuor traul was reached we saw many other trauls lead ung to all walks of lufe We saw that our hugh school years had been only steppung stones and we now had to decude whuch traul we weue best fitted to follow However Maduson Hugh School had guven us a furm foundatuon upon whuch to buuld our hopes and dreams We go forth wuth courage and enthusuasm gauned tnrough testung our mental powers wuth those of our colleagues wuth fond re unembrance of all the fune fruends we have left behund and wonderful tumes we had together and wuth an undyung trust and loyalty to Maduson Hugh School I3 get back on.
