The last bell has rung, the last class is over--for today. Students take the ever present bundle of books and head for the parking lot where their buses wait, We, the Madisonian staff of l96O, are proud to dedicate this annual to a faculty member who has given so unselfishly of herself to the students. She very ably attends to the details which provide tor smooth and efficient organization ot any task. She has contributed in numerous unnoticed and often unthanked ways. For this we thank her and as a small token of our appreciation, we dedicate this l96O Madisonian to her, Miss Esther Smith. A..-f A RICHARD HAM ILT ON li Q - . We have seen the end of the school year come and the class of l96O graduated. But you are reading this in the fall and you see another year unfolding just as we have seen and tried to capture the un- folding of this year. We have tried to put on these pages the personality and uniqueness which have made the year i959-1960 iust a little different from any other year at Madison . We offer our thanks to all those who helped us work so hard to produce this book, and especially do we thank our advisor, June Campbell. Without this help the Madisonian would never have-been possible. But most of all we thank you, the students, for providing us the story and events for this book.
