'On my honor as a member of the National Honor Society, I will do my best to represent the four ideals of the organization: Character, Scholarship, Leadership, and Service. Iwill be fair and square in my dealings with teachers and fellow students. Iwill remember that the primary purpose of school is getting an education. Iwill use what powers l have toward making Madison High School a better school. I will serve my school without thought of personal glory. Coach Cook's assistant, Jack Olcott, was also starting his first year at Madison as backfield coach. Madison started its season by traveling to Upper Sandusky. After the victory over Upper, 29 to 14, the Ram squad came back home the next week to break the winning streak of nineteen straight victories of Mt. Vernon. The following weekend was the saddest for Jim Cook and his big eleven. Garfield Heights came down and hand- ed Madison its only defeat, 12 to 6. Then the squad seemed to click and they came back with a bang to take Ashland 30 to 16, Crestline 35 to 6, Defiance 43 to 16, Wooster 12 to 0, Orrville 32 to 8, and Shelby 48 to O. Lowell Mitchell Ken O' Leary The Ram team also regained the S.A.M. trophy by defeating Ashland and Shelby. 72- Garrywliice Charles Robinson Chuck Ludwig 2,1 , - wzmaff Wg: L 81 Ron Selby Bob Smith TO!!!
