J U DY ALMON Treasurer CHERYL MELCHER Historian Senior Qfficers Lead Class of '63 We, the members of the senior class, have taken part in the numerous activities offered in the school the past four years. Led by Mel Griffin, our freshman year was very prosperous. In February our class held our first class party. With the theme Little Bit of New Orleans , it successfully drew over three hundred class members. The fun started with dancing and games followed by a spaghetti feed. Later in the evening we attended the basketball game. With Tom Waugh as our leader our sophomore year, we were able to continue our exciting time at Madison. The year began with the Sophomore Sock Hop . Later in the year we had a joint Sophomore-Freshman Talent Assembly. The assembly was very successful and was repeated for the P.T.A. Ron Lucas led our class in our third year at Madison. In November we held our class party called the Mystery Mix . The evening began with a dinner followed by attending the school play, Speaking of Murder , with a dance afterward. The naut- ical myth of King Neptune, ruler of the depths, was used as the theme for the annual spring formal sponsored by our class. King Neptune's Ball was a complete success and everyone had fun planning this big dance. Our final year at Madison was led by Pete Martindale. This year began with a reception for all the new students. At the end of the football season a football queen' was selected from our class. During the basketball season we sponsored two aftergame dances. Also, the seniors challenged the faculty to a basketball game. The traditional Senior Week was held in April along with the senior assembly at the end of this week. These are just a few memories which our fellow classmates will treasure from their high school days at James Madison High School.
