Counselors Busy Cn The Job Counseling a student body of 2436 students is not an easy job. The-we nine teachers spend from three to six periods a day plus many hours before and after school guiding Solon students. Their time and effort is greatly appreciated. Mrs. Amelia -Auld is often seen checking the plans for the day with the counseling area's secre- tary, Mrs. Doyne McKinney. When it's time for forecasting Mr. Allen Widestrom is always busy. He is pictured here dis- cussing a sophomore boy's sched- ule With the Dean of Boys, Mr. Cyril Butterfield. Pictured checking files in the counseling office are Mr. James Blake and Mrs. Delpha Ham- merle. Mr. Duane Fiskum and Mr. Roger Mockford occasionally find time in their busy schedule to rest for a minute and talk. Six Secretaries Aid Administration Miss Marguerite Sykes Mrs. Sharon McCourt Mrs. Bethel Edmon Mrs. Shirley Lombard Mrs. Roberta Shoop Mrs. Doyne McKinney Head secretary Miss Sykes leads a very busy schedule. She is personal secretary to Mr. Walter E. Erickson, school principal. Also she takes full responsibility of keeping the office rtmning smoothly. Mrs. McCourt waits on the counter, 'takes care of the cut slips and tardies, and all emergency excuses. Mrs. Edmon checks the attendance records and waits on the coun- ter. Mrs. Lombard is personal secretary to the vice-principals, checks the attendance records, and waits on the counter. Mrs. Shoop answers incoming calls, does all filing, waits on the counter, sorts the mail and does all photostat work. Mrs. McKinney does all of the clerical typing, filing, and is personal secretary for all of the counselors.
