With short chants during recess, the cheer- leaders encourage high spirit. Stopping for a moment's break after a pep rally, Lynn and Diane model their spirit hats. Cheerleaders Project Togetherness lf you spent any time on the road this summer, no doubt you often met up with a slightly used, jam-packed blue Gran Torino. Inside you were sure to find 8 close friends who had been se- lected as MA's 1974-'75 Varstiy cheer- leading squad. Working diligently throughout the summer, the experi- ence and skill necessary for squad perfection was gained. Introducing thelse girls into the fantasy land of cheerleading was the jamboree game against Bullock only weeks after elec- tions. Shlopping, learning and simply sharing such personal problems and experiences together combined in producing one of the closest squads at MA. To insure complete concentration in preparation for cheerleader clinic, the girls practiced once a week without fail and spent an industrious and memorable week at Crys' cabin where a quick dip in the lake was the reward for jobs well done. Kathy gives a slight frown as Scott makes a first down. Brenda smiles with complete confidence while performing a routine to Oh, My My Members of the 1974-'75 cheerleader squad are from left to right: Head-Penny Streetman, Brenda jackson, Debbie Pritchett, Cindy Faust, Lynn Long, Kathy Sistrunk, Crys Hood, and Diane Massey. 69
