ALL STAR sou On july 12 full of determination and zest, these weak-kneed girls made their way to TSU clinic and within hours had begun what seemed a week of eternity. Returning home the following Friday, they brought with them superior and excellent awards, and All-Star squad to cheer for the North in the North-South game in the Spring, '75. But this was only the beginning, re- turning to school on August 28th the practices and' work most assuredly continued under the able guidance of their previous sponsor, Mrs. Zeta Spence. The main objective of the squad was to maximize school pride and spirit and each week the cheerleaders con- jured up something new for pep ral- lies and other events. Two progressive steps made toward the promotion of school spirit was the first bon-fire in D Debbie looks astonished as she is caught in the middle of sideline action. The vivacious cheerleaders lead a rousing cheer while the players pause for a time out. Penny remains loyal to the end. several years and the establishment of MA's first Pep Club by the cheer- leaders and their present sponsor, Mrs. Reda West. Cheerleaders keep on trucking with that pow- erful Knight spirit! Head cheerleader Penny Streetman, urges the Knights to rack up another score over Scott.

Girls Give Opponents Tough Time With determination and a little experi- ence, the girls basketball team, coached by Frankie Locklar, began the 1974-75 basketball season against Lee on November 25. Although the score was Lee's way, the team didn't get down and came right back to whip Bullock. With the leadership of Seniors Penny Streetman, Lisa McCain, and Vickie Taylor, the girls defeated Chambers twice after a loss to Dixie. After defeating Bullock again, the team concluded the regular season with a 4-7 record. Standing: Mrs. Reda West, Linda Henderson, Sheryl Worrell, Wanda Streetman, Glenda York, Vickie Taylor, Kathy Sistrunk, Crys Hood, Diane Massey, Coach Frankie Locklar, kneeling: Bon- nie Paulk, Kathy Vail, Lynn Long, Lisa McCain, Penny Streetman, Teresa Rotton, Rita Baker, Manager Debra Spratlin. Teresa Rotton makes this layup against a Cham- bers defender. Sheryl Worrell puts up this shot for two points.
