B Team Takes Tallapoosa Tournament Macon Academy's B team started the 1974-75 season off by winning three straight games over Lee, Bull- ock, and Springwood. Then a slump seemed to come over the Knights as they lost four straight games. But this slump was not for long as the Knights came back to win seven straight games including two wins and a first place trophy in the Tallapoosa Invitational Tournament. The Knights defeated Chambers 55-48, and Lee 55-46, in the two games of the Tour- nament. The last game of the season with Scott ended in defeat but the B team's winning record stood at 10 wins against only 5 losses. George Varner puts up this shot for two more. Glenwood Bout Ups Enthusiasm Macon Academy palyed Glenwood in the first game after Christmas and beat them by a score of 58-48. David Vann scored 26 points for the Knights followed by Billy Segrest with 10. This was the first of six straight wins for the Knights. The Knights got a third crack at Bullock on january 18,1975, at Bull- ock. The game was very tight at first, but the Knights loosened up and pulled it out 52-49 in a very close con- test. Al Vann scored 19 points for the Knights followed by David Vann with 17. The Knights went on through the season and ended with a winning record of 12-9. 57
