Miss MA and alternates give beautiful smiles re- vealing their happy feelings.

.ittle Miss MA contestants spent several lours each day perfecting their routines ind walks. Bs the semi-finalists names are called, iane nervously opens her envelope nd exclaims, Oh! that's easy! 4iss MA contestant, Debbie Whatley, ramatizes her talent of Alice the Cat. tix: Pageant Brings Happy Days Having so much to do and very little time in which to do it, the yearbook staff plunged into the planning of the 3rd annual Miss MA Pageant with vig- orous action after the Christmas Holi- days. Mrs. Woodall, aided by her chairman-head, jane Rainer, ar- ranged and designed the Pageant with help from her staff and stagecrew headed by Billy Segrest. With a nervous smile and graceful poise,' each beautiful girl floated down the runway in her flowing gown as the 1975 Miss MA Beauty Pageant began. Held on january 17, the Pag- eant's theme was based on Happy Days. ln front of the backdrop which depicted an old-fashioned juke box with musical notes, the Miss MA con- testants, taken from grades 10-12 and each of the organizations performed individual talents along with a group presentation of Happy Days. Rep- resenting grades 4-6, the Little Miss MA contestants danced and sang to The Entertainer and Tie a Yellow Ribbon. Virginia Martin, Miss Auburn, emceed the Pageant and proved a valuable as- sistant to Mrs. Woodall on this memorable evening. To ease the ten- sion while the judges made their deci- sion, a tap dance was given by Kelli Youngblood and Tia Bell. Regina McGinty sang two musical numbers by the Carpenters for the anxious au- dience during a short recess. 33

Ecstatic vibrations fill the air with the smiles of Little Miss MA and her alternates. Catherine jeanes, 1975 Little Miss MA, smiles wistfully as Molly Varner hands her roses. ks. Diane Massey is '75 Miss MA Diane Massey, sponsored by the Stu- dent Council, was crowned the 1975 Miss MA with Debbie Pritchett and Kathi Thomas as first and second run- ner-ups. The contestants who voted for Miss Congeniality gave the honor to a well-deserving lane Rainer. The title of Little Miss MA was given to Catherine jeanes and her court mem- bers were Wendy Woodall, Sherry Phillips, and Sherri Bowles. Competing for Miss MA were: Deb- bie Dykes, lane Rainer, lane Shep- pard, Leah Segrest, lane Edwards, Kathi Thomas, Debbie Perry, Diane Massey, Crys Hood, Sara lane Tor- bert, Joanna Supple, Debbie Whatley, Mary Ruth Davis, and Debbie Prit- chett. The Little Miss MA contestants were: Kim Hendricks, Towanna Car- roll, Lia Cannon, Monica Venable, Ruth Tompkins, Catherine leanes, Kim Brantley, Sherry Phillips, Claire Austin, Sheila Hornsby, Sherri Bowles, and Wendy Woodall. .555 at 'Q ii lt . ......... .,...
