Spring Synthesizes As wintry days emerged into Spring, MA unfolded the final pages of its 1973-74 personality. Launching the succession of the events to follow was the presentation of MA's third annual band banquet. With an abundance of talent and food, it was inevitable to be a com- plete success. joy Carroll was awarded the john Philip Sousa Band Award for her outstanding musical ability and leadership. As a token of appreciation to our band director, Mr. R.C. Edwards, the band members presented him with a gift. MA burst into Spring with full capac- ity as the traditional Spring Festival got under way. The festivities in- cluded treats for those of young and old alike. The highlights of this event- ful day included a car wash spon- sored by the MA Club, the Miss America Beauty Pageant and a car raffle. MA's newly-formed Drama Club presented two classic plays, The Valiant and Taming of the Shrew, for the entertainment of all, Per- formed professionally and skillfully, these plays unveiled the promising talents of many students. During early May all teachers and stu- dents worked diligently to provide a grand exhibition of science projects for the first MA Science Fair. Presented in the gym, the Science Fair was both impressive and successful. Springtime is said to be a time of love and unity. At MA we consider this an essential part of existence. On April 19 the junior Class promoting this es- sence of unity, provided the Senior Class with a beautiful prom. 14
