16155 ill We, the class of l958, in eleven individual and distinct parts ready to pass out of this high school, in full possession of a crammed mind, well--trained memory, and almost super-human understanding, do make and publish this, our last will and testament. To the Faculty we leave the memory of our class, may they think well of us, may they re- member all our outstanding qualifies and forget our shortcomings. To the Junior Class, we leave our patience. It is the only means by which they can en- dure the Sophomores. We leave the Sophomore Class our good luck. It made us what we are today, and it should satisfy them. To the unsophisticated Freshmen we leave what we have learned about the teachers--- which teachers can be bluffed, which are easy and which are hard to please and those whom it is impossible to please. We leave our heartfelt sympathy for the next four years to the students in the eighth grade. Mary Loyce Baker leaves her well known tongue--wagging ability to Lavonne Blacketer. It's guaranteed to run. Carolyn Catlett leaves her privilege to sleep in Government class and never take a test to Randy Mayes. Alfred Taylor wanted to leave his talent for singing, but decided he would need it, so, he is leaving his arguing technique to Violet Shewmaker--you'll need it. Danny Milburn leaves his place at the piano to Darrell Harmon. Music has power to soothe the savage breast. Angela S. Milburn leaves her opportunity to graduate in three years to Joyce Simpson. Norma Bishop leaves Jerry Burns to any one who can get him---she is going to take Harvey. Donna Montgomery leaves her sociology book to Wilna Hall. fOh, she has one alreadyli Peggy Devine leaves her love for basketball and her faithful service as cheerleader for four years to Jane Pinkston. Margaret Anderson leaves her good grades and quiet disposition to Anna Martha Lawson Lillian Smock leaves her ability to talk Mr. Rowland out of a test to anyone who dis- likes his tests as much as she does. - Judy M. Shewmaker leaves her marriage ideas to anyone who cares to use them. The Senior Girls leave their grace and charm to all the noisy, impolite girls in the high school--maybe you'll be more ladylike next year. The Senior Boys leave their enormous appetites to the small, scrawny boys in the high school--you'll be our size some day. The Class of '58, not the largest and not the smallest, is in our opinion, the best class ever to graduate from Mackville High, theretore, we leave our self esteem and senior dig- nity to those who follow in our footsteps. We, the testators, of this will set our hands and seal this twentieth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-eight. fbi If afywl Us-mm
