PROPHECY A gentle rain has just fallen and a beautiful rainbow has settled around Mackville High School. In the year 1967 a reunion was held by the seniors of '57. First to arrive upon the scene is the former Patsy Russell, not a schoolteacher, but housewife who is helping her husband on their farm south of Mackville. No sooner had the happenings of Patsy been told than June Bland arrived in a new Cadillac. Her taxi-driving wages had increaded so she could drive a Cadillac for pleasure trips. Who's next? Why it's Charles Young who must be at least 6'7 You have probably read his advertisements in the Saturday Evening Post on Have girls turned you down because you're too short? Then try Grow-Taller Qthat's his formulal. It must be good. While strolling down the hall we met Lorna Hall who has just returned from Cuba. She earns her money by taking care of Frances and Stanley Yaste's children while they attend school. ls that Billy Carey in those western duds? By golly, it isl Billy liked F.F.A. so well he went to Texas to farm and is now running for governor of that state. Standing beside him are two of the best Home Economics teachers in the state, Joylyn and Ruth. Both are now teaching at the University of Kentucky. They even teach some of their own theories fthose lucky kids learning simple termsl. Speaking of kids, have you seen Evalon and Paul's two sets of twins? Yes, Evalon surprised us and married Paul Key. They are living in a New York hotel until their new home is completed. Paul plans to continue his practice as horse doctor when he moves to his new farm home. Eugene Bishop over in the corner doing just what he likes--loafing. He goes when and where he pleases and leaves a girl in every port. Next to him is Jackie Black, who thought he was going to get married. Well, he was turned down so he joined the Foreign Legion to mend his broken heart. Our next classmate is Glenn Arnold who after graduation took up mortician work with his father and later married Rosemary Yancey. See that brunette over therel How did you know it was Virginia? She now has her own television program for singers. Remember what a struggle Hunter Shewmaker had with commerce. It's funny, but he now has Mr. Rowland's place in the M.H.S. faculty line-up. Yes, Jackie Key still looks the same. He made so much money working for Billy Simpson, a chain store owner, that he has now purchased the Key Super Markets in Kentucky. Brenda has not arrived yet. Her telephone operating keeps her terribly busy nowadays, so she will probably be a little late. Mary Faye is still the quiet, friendly girl she used, to be. She has been in college, but is home for a rest because she wasted so much time trying to save it that she's a nervous wreck, but she will soon go back. 22
