Douglas Talbott, director of Georgia ' s Disabled Doctor ' s Program. Talbott told the Palm Beach Institute conference that one out of seven physicians in any hospital group in the United States is in trouble with drugs. Besides alcohol β the drug of choice of most physicians β darvon, tylenol, talwin, and demerol are all causing a lot of trouble, and cocaine and THC (marijuana) are showing up with more frequency as the causes of problems among physicians. Another group of wonderful people is the housing people. It is rather an ignorant policy to force two people to be roommates β they presently have singles because their respective former roommates left β especially if by doing this it leaves empty dormitory rooms. This policy might make sense if the College could save money on the deal; however, this is not the case. They (this college) are simply leaving rooms empty because they are hoping to get that extra one hundred dollars from some poor dumb sucker who is willing to pay to keep a single. This college is very very very greedy!!! SEASON OF TRIUMPH FOR CLAN Highlander fans saw something these past few months they hadn ' t seen in over a decade β a winning men ' s basketball team. FREEDOM OF SPEECH NON-POLICY By Debbie Willard Biology 103, RA freedom of speech, and the driveway behind Jane Hall were the chief topics of discussion at Tuesday night ' s MSA meeting . MSA President Linn Baker ' 82 reported on the steps taken towards the students ' concern over low test grades in Biology 103. Students had believed that test scores were lower than in past years. But, according to Prof. Richard Freiburg ' s records, the grades are basically the same as in the past. Freiburg is now handing out study guides; thus the students are finding it easier to study for the tests. The study sessions that have been held have been beneficial also. Freiburg emphasized that if there are amy problems, he Is willing to help. Baker then reported on the RA freedom of speech NcOeUand Menu We would like to express our appreciation to CAB for the nice Valentine ' s Day dance held Friday night. The turnout was excellent, and it is too bad that more ;AB activities aren ' t as ell attended. Thanks again, and many thanks and love to Tony too. Love, Poo-Poo Nasty DISCUSSED IN SENATE issue. MSA had asked the RAs if they were for trying to win some sort of freedom of speech in criticizing the administration. The RAs decided to let MSA pursue the issue, and thus Baker met with President Stephens. He suggested that there be a non-policy on the issue. His view. Baker explained, is that it is unfair to totally censor the words of anyone, but it is not right to let them say anything they please either. Non-policy means not total censoring or total freedom, but rather that each case be dealt with individually, and that moderation should be used . calendar HOMECOMING 1981 Monday, Oct. 5 β Final king and qua en elections. HIGHLANDERS Li. u .w, . Β« To the editor: I was thrilled to see that The Daily Other refered to the girls ' soccer team as a Mac team. Apparently the school does not extend the same courtesy to our female soccer players. The girls were not sponsored by MacMurray; therefore they were not able to use MacMurray as their team name. The girls also had to purchase uniforms with their own money. Maybe, since the ladies did so well, the College will recognize them as a Mac team and extend certain courtesies to them. Thank you.
