Students searched for relief during 985-1986 from the lasting effects of controversial laws concerning graduation requirements. As the class of 1988 received ptional education programs students to choose the exact their education would take. The three options consisted of advanced. and advanced programs. Those choosing the route had only to meet a 21 requirement,therefore allowing more electixe courses. The two vanced programs encouraged duatlon Gptlons gislated for Class of 688 Enhance Education emphasized. lf a student planned to graduate under either of the advanced programs, only two athletic or substitution credits such as band or drill team counted toward graduation. Because of this. if one chose to continue with one of these courses, no graduation credits were awarded. Similarities in the programs included four years of English. three years of math, one semester of government and one of economics, three semesters of physical education, and one semester of health education.
