om, Fins A week of festivities for the first MHS homecoming was climaxed on October 27. Returning to join in the celebration were 767 graduates-members of the first grad- uating class of MacArthur. Highlighting the eventful evening was the crowning of Mac's first homecoming queen, Becky Johnson. Miss Johnson was competing against Pat Foytic, Ann Wood, and Cathy Tilden for the coveted title. Each class selected a princess to complete the queen's court. Debbie Burrow was selected by the junior class, Alexa Morykwas by the sophomores, and the freshmen chose Denise Morgan. Also winning awards during the spirit week were the students of Miss Davis, homeroom 105, which was chosen as the best decorated classroom, and Bill Stanford, who won a free Crest when his name was drawn from the list of subscribers. fum ly Cards lined city streets to watch MucArthur's first home- coming parade. ., ,VA 1100 bright balloons sailed skyward as Cards cheered their team to victory. The recep- tion took place after the pep rally, and all ex,s were invited to at- tend. Later that afternoon the marching Cardinal Band and Card- ettes presented a grand parade. Joining in the parade were deco- rated cars representing almost ev- ery school organization. To top off an already perfect evening, a dance was given in the cafeteria after the game.
