SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE To the students of Mabank High School: We are entering into the most challenging age the world has ever known. In the past, Amer- ica has felt safe because we were separated from the rest of the world powers by water. Today, in an age of intercontinental missiles and world sat- ellites, we can no longer feel this security. To meet this New Age, our schools must stress the fundamentals more. By fundamentals, I mean mathematics, science, and languages. American schools are far behind Russia in teaching mathemat- ics and science. We need to stress the English lan- guage as well as foreign languages. America has rnet every challenge in the past, and I believe she will meet this one. Sincerely yours, Ernest C. Butler
