His job has always been a big one, and became even bigger when we entered the new .Tunior - Senior High School building. Many important decisions rest upon his shoulders, but we are always assured that when his decision is made, it's a good one. In spite of the tremendous burden which he bears, Mr. Bowler always finds time to greet the students with a warm smile and a friendly hello. As students, we are not always the best ones for saying Thank You when it is appropriate, but this is one time when we feel that the efforts of Mr. Bowler to make our high school years good ones, deserve our sincerest gratitude. Mr. Bowler - Thank You So Much For Your Part In Our Years At L.C.S. 3 MEMGRY QF Lois MARGARET ALLEN i A We remember Lois for her happy laughter, and asa person with great initiative. She worked at the Lyons Hospital, and was often commended for her good work at a none too easy job. The accident which took her life was such a shock to all of Lyons that for a time, it seemed almost untrue. We all wish there was some way in which it could have been prevented, and since she would have been graduating with us in .T une, we dedicate this page of our yearbook to her. 4 A. Joe Busco was President and Mr. Buell was the advisor. During the year the class sponsored a bake sale and a record hop. 1956 This year the name was changed to Rowdy Sophomores . The group chose as its President Tom Comella, and as its advisor, Mr. Thurkins. The class sponsored a bake sale and held the Soph Jive of '55. The sale of school pins added to the still lacking treasury. 1956-1957 With Barry Cummings as our President, and Mr. Gould as Advisor, the 1957- class set out for a good Junior year. The two big highlights of the year were selecting our class rings, and the Junior Promg Teahouse of the June Moon. It was also decided that Varden Studios would take our senior pictures and handle our LYONS TALE. 1958 For the climax to all the events, our Senior Year, the class elected .Tim Leisenring as President, with Mr. Gould still acting as Advisor. To start off the year, senior pictures made quite a dent in our pocketbooks. In December, the highlight was the Starlight Ball. A bake sale and a record hop were crowded in before all thought turned to the Senior Trip. To bring this year to an end, that glorious night in June will find a serious place in the hearts of those seniors marching in step to Pomp and Circumstancef' 'I2 LEISENRING, JAMES -Varsity bas- ketball 1,3,4: IV Basketball 1,24 JV Baseball 1, 2, Class President 4. Miss Tierney teaches these students such 'lhil1gS BS diCIHIiOH. transcription, and filing, to name only a few. For those who want it, this course is offered in their Senior year, and prepares them to become compe- tent office workers. DRI ER 'EDUCATICN Probably the man in our school who takes the most chances with hislife during the week is Mr Nicholson, the Driver's Ed instructor. Students take this course for many reasons. For example, some take it to prepare for their road testg others take it to earn their Blue Card, their key to night driving at age 17. No matter what the purpose, Driver's Ed offers to those who take it the opportunity to become save users of the highway. 1 .N VARSITY BASEBALL JAYVEE BASEBALL TENNIS 36 QQ? roots LL SNS' Flsxx COACHES: Mr, Hatsell, Mr. Yost, Mr. Burroughs, Mr, House. Although the record wasn't very good, success can't always be measured in statistics. Widi only four seniors leav- ing the club, Coach Burroughs should have the nucleus for a winning ball club next year. The outlook for the future is even brighter because of the fine record of the Junior High. Coach Blackwell, assisted by Cadet Coach Jack Baker, has begun the grooming of a team that should provide a winning team in the coming years. This year 's squad beat Clyde and played an outstanding game against a larger Canandaigua Team. 37 A Sl'l'Y S A 'N Ab, -1 T , . is ' S EN IORS Tom, Gene, Joe, Ron, and Dave T 1 ROW ONE, LEFT TO RIGHT: Manager Tuck, Co-Captain Devito, E.
